A miserable Yorkshire poetry musical
Hosted at the Golden Lion every Tuesday, Gloucester Rd from 2010 to 2016 Live in the Lion’s Den was, arguably, Bristol’s finest weekly evening of unexpected musical intimacy.
Each week I hosted two marvelous acts and we had the most amazing people visit us from all over the world, and Bristol..!
These are some of the best memories I'll ever make.
Find a history of acts that played in the POSTER ARCHIVE and go like our Facebook too, who knows, maybe one day the best will return.
I wrote a guitar score for a show called FOLLY, written by my very talented and beautiful poet friend called Sally Jenkinson.
Sally ran a night in Bristol for a very long time with Liz Greenfield called POETRY PULPIT and has two gorgeous books out, Sweat Born Secrets (2013) and BOYS (2016) with Burning Eye Books
We have a company called Homesick Productions and are working on our second show that will probably be ready in 2017
I was in a show called Death & Treason, Rhyme & Reason with Twisted Theatre, supported by Ferment at the Bristol Old Vic. We did 2 runs at BOV and two short tours around the south of England.
The project was created and directed by Elizabeth Westcott, with writing and performing collaboration from Hannah Martin (she makes great folk music with Phillip Henry) ... Jessica Macdonald, who plays cello and makes gorgeous theatre and also makes this GREAT BLOG... and Robbie Burgess the percussionist who's in one of my fave Bristol bands called The Triangulators
